The service life of the conveyor belt is related to the environment

2020-10-16

Conveyor mesh belts are also called stainless steel conveyor belts, metal braided conveyor belts, stainless steel mesh belts, conveyor chains and metal mesh belts.

The life span of general mesh belts is much shorter than that of stainless steel mesh belts. Because the environment such as high temperature and corrosion is very complicated. As we all know, the stainless steel mesh belt is characterized by high temperature and corrosion resistance. On the other hand, when the mesh belt is used for normal operation at an ultra-high temperature exceeding 400, the temperature rises due to the heat of the conveying material, and the strength of the conveyor belt gradually decreases as the temperature rises. The use limit of the stainless steel mesh belt depends on the temperature of the material and the rotating friction of the mesh belt and the temperature of the material. If the temperature exceeds 400, whether it will affect the life of the stainless steel mesh belt, please consult the stainless steel mesh belt manufacturer.

Generally speaking, stainless steel mesh belts can withstand high temperatures and will not affect their life under 400. However, the life of stainless steel mesh belts manufactured by each manufacturer is different depending on the manufacturing process. When using stainless steel mesh belts at high temperatures, the following issues need to be considered.

a) Heat caused by friction during mesh belt work

b) Depending on the manufacturing process, the coefficient of thermal expansion of the stainless steel mesh belt is different. If different materials are welded, thermal fatigue may occur.

c) When the ambient temperature exceeds 400, the intermittent reduction due to expansion between components should also be fully considered.

d) Creep

e) Ordinary mesh belts are thermally brittle when working at high temperatures, as does stainless steel mesh belts.

f) Carbon precipitation brittleness;

 g) The effect of temperature changes on the use of stainless steel mesh belts (cooling and expansion)

h) The influence of high temperature environment on lubrication. Silicon, graphite and molybdenum disulfide lubricants all have good heat resistance.

2. The mesh belt is exposed to corrosive materials which will have adverse effects. First of all, the mesh belt components become thinner and wear faster. Generally, the rust of the mesh belt components also affects the flexible rotation of the hinges and rollers of the stainless steel mesh belt. When the stainless steel mesh belt continues to work in an acidic or alkaline environment, stress corrosion and crystalline corrosion of the parts will occur. When using mesh belts in a corrosive environment, great attention must be paid to the selection of mesh belt components. Whether the mesh belt made of martensitic stainless steel series is rusty depends on the specific working environment. It is very useful to master anti-corrosion technology to use mesh belt correctly in corrosive environment.

 3. The mesh belt used in the grinding environment is particularly worn out when used in the grinding environment. In order to ensure the life of the mesh belt, you need to pay attention when using it.

 a) Installing the chain cover can prevent the mesh belt from being directly exposed to abrasive materials.

 b) If the mesh belt is exposed to abrasives, be sure to choose a suitable handling model.

 c) Minimize the chain speed

d) In order to reduce the pressure of the hinge formed by the pin and sleeve of the mesh belt, please choose a large-size mesh belt.

 e) Please use grease lubricant.
